John H. Matthews

Biography: John Matthews, Executive Director of the Alliance for Global Water Adaptation (AGWA), specializes in water management, climate adaptation, climate resilience, and nature-based solutions. His work encompasses large-scale technical climate risk assessments, the development of ecological resilience indicators, leading the creation and implementation of a national climate planning tool, collaborating with businesses to integrate resilience into their operations, and coordinating a program to engage macroeconomic planners and decision-makers in blending resilience with traditional economic evaluation approaches. John has worked in numerous countries and has published extensively in journals such as Science, Nature Climate Change, PLoS One, Water Security, and PLoS Biology.
