S. Janakarajan

Professor S. Janakarajan, an economist, is President of the South Asia Consortium for Interdisciplinary Water Resources Studies (SaciWATERs), Hyderabad, and former Professor and Director at Madras Institute of Development Studies (MIDS), Chennai. He earned his Master’s from Madras Christian College, PhD from MIDS, and undertook postdoctoral work at Cornell. He has been affiliated with Oxford University and SOAS, London. His research focuses on land-water-people interactions, rural and urban water, ecology, climate change, urban floods, and resilience. Author of several books and numerous papers, his recent work examines climate change, wetlands, and livelihood resilience in the Cauvery delta. [email protected]
