Tshering T. Lama O’Gorman
Tshering T. Lama O’Gorman is a current PhD candidate in the discipline of Geography & Planning at Macquarie University, Australia. Her PhD research explores how climate change knowledge is received and interpreted in the Nepalese context. It examines how Nepal’s climate change policies and adaptation programs were developed and implemented in the country through an environmental justice lens. Her interest in this topic emerges from and is shaped by her identity as a person of Indigenous Himalayan heritage, together with her professional experience in environmental management and development aid work across the Himalayan region. She is a dedicated humanitarian and environmental practitioner with extensive experience globally in the design and management of effective and accountable environmental and development programs. She has over 25 years of experience in community development, natural resource management and biodiversity conservation in a range of countries including Nepal, Bhutan, China, India, Uganda, Fiji, U.K. and Australia.
